License & Specialty Plates

Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI) has made Illinois license plates since 1983, consistently meeting state production and delivery schedules.

MRI purchased and maintains the heavy industrial equipment—including state-of-the-art digital technology—needed to make the plates. In addition to standard Illinois license plates, we also manufacture specialty design plates such as university and military plates and special event plates. Special event plates are designed by organizations and commissioned to promote community events; all designs must be pre-approved by the state.
